Beyond Basics - Cables

Ready to expand your knitting skills? Beyond Basics - Cables will show you that those beautiful twists and textures are often much easier than they look.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of cable knitting while creating a cozy scarf you can wrap yourself up in all season long - or make as a thoughtful handmade gift.

Participants will learn how cable stitches are formed, how to follow cable instructions in a pattern, and how simple stitch combinations can create rich texture and movement in your knitting.

Prerequisites: Participants must know how to cast on, bind off, knit, and purl.

You’ll learn:
• How cable stitches are created
• How to work simple cable patterns
• How to follow cable instructions in a pattern
• Tips for building confidence with textured knitting

You’ll need:
• Approximately 350 yards of worsted weight yarn, in the colour of your choice
• 5 mm straight needles or short circular needles
• Cable needle
