Beyond Basics - My First Sweater

Ready to knit your first sweater? Beyond Basics – My First Sweater is designed to help you build your skills and gain confidence as you work through a classic sweater pattern from start to finish.

In this workshop, we will use the Flax Sweater pattern by Tin Can Knits, a versatile and approachable pattern sized from newborn all the way to adult 6XL. That means you can choose to learn on a sweater in your own size, start small with a baby or child size, or make one for someone else in the family. Once you’ve learned the process, you may just want to make one for everyone.

Throughout the workshop, participants will work through the skills and steps involved in creating a handmade sweater, with guidance and support along the way. This is a great next-step class for knitters who are ready to move beyond smaller projects and take on a garment with confidence.

Prerequisites: Participants must know how to cast on, bind off, knit, and purl.

Materials are not included in the workshop fee and will vary depending on the size you choose to make. Students receive 10% off workshop supplies purchased in the shop.
