Ready to move beyond the basics? Next Steps in Knitting is a two-session workshop designed for knitters who are comfortable casting on, knitting and purling, and are ready to build their skills with a wearable project.
Using the Barley Hat by Tin Can Knits, participants will create a simple, classic beanie while learning how to shape their knitting with decreases. This is a great next project for anyone who has completed a beginner knitting class or already feels confident with the basic stitches.
Participants may choose fingering, DK or worsted weight yarn for their hat, allowing you to make the project your own.
Prerequisites: You must know how to cast on, knit and purl.
You’ll learn:
• How to knit with circular needles
• How to work decreases
• How shaping creates the crown of a hat
• How to follow a simple hat pattern and work toward a finished project
This is a 2-session workshop.
Materials are not included in the workshop fee. Students receive 10% off workshop supplies purchased in the shop.
